On March 27, 2023, Athena Infonomics hosted and facilitated a virtual knowledge-sharing event between India and Mexico in an effort to understand and learn from the conditions, challenges, and opportunities for operationalizing artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies for governance and service delivery in an equitable and inclusive manner. This session, hosted as part of USAID’s Equitable AI Challenge, sought to examine approaches and generate new technical knowledge, lessons learned, and tested solutions in addressing gender bias in AI tools.

Speakers and panelists included: Neeraj Mittal of the Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TUFIDCO); Jayesh Ranjan of the Government of Telangana; a representative of the Government of Guanajuato, Mexico; Saurabh Gaur of the Government of Andhra Pradesh; Naveen Kumar of the Government of Uttar Pradesh; Prakash Kumar of the Wadhwani Institute of Technology and Policy; and Osama Manzar of the Digital Empowerment Foundation.
