Members of Athena's WASH team traveled to Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire for the 21st African Water Association International Congress and Exhibition, held in conjunction with the 7th International Conference on Sludge Management, and participated in several thought-provoking sessions and presentations on the need for more equitable outcomes in the WASH sector, and how data can serve as an important decision-making tool in realizing these outcomes. While at the event, the Athena team provided live updates via social media.
Centered on the theme "Acting for Sustainable Resource Management and Access for All to Water and Sanitation in Africa," the event brought together an estimated 2,000 participants from all continents, and featured more than 100 exhibitors who presented on WASH-sector technologies and management approaches.
