In India, the second most populous country in the world, less than 50 percent of the population has access to safely managed drinking water, according to an estimate by UNICEF.

With this and other alarming statistics in mind, Dr. Y. Malini Reddy, our Director of WASH in South Asia, participated in and served on the advisory committee for the City-Startup Partnership Summit for Water Security, hosted by India's Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on September 9, 2022.

The event, presided over by the Honorable Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, brought together a number of key WASH professionals and highlighted dozens of startups selected under the 2022 India Water Pitch-Pilot-Scale Startup Challenge.
