Impact Study of Grants for Rural Transformation
Reliance Foundation

Reliance Foundation, under its Rural Transformation Grants program, funded and supported the establishment of various infrastructure projects across India. To understand the impact of these projects on beneficiaries' lives, Reliance Foundation commissioned Athena Infonomics to conduct an impact assessment study.

The study focused on three projects:

  1. A Solar Power Plant in Govardhan EcoVillage, Maharashtra
  2. The Alipiri to Tirumala Foot Pathway, constructed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD)
  3. The Baharagora Road Construction in Jharkhand

This simultaneous assessment of three distinct projects, conducted in diverse geographical and socio-cultural regions, employed both quantitative surveys with beneficiaries and qualitative discussions with various stakeholders. The assessment aimed to measure the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and coherence of all projects. The findings of the assessment highlighted the impact of the infrastructure developments and provided valuable insights to inform the Rural Transformation Grants Programme. This comprehensive evaluation approach allowed for a nuanced understanding of how these projects affected different communities across India.
