Doyita Basu is an Associate Consultant at Athena Infonomics, where her work is driven by the dynamic interplay of policy, natural resource management, and behaviour change. She explores how their synergy shapes sustainable outcomes. Prior to joining Athena Infonomics, Doyita served as Deputy Research Manager at Sambodhi Research and Communications, where she led and supported research initiatives for clients and stakeholders across key domains, including watershed management, agricultural resilience, institutional strengthening, women's livelihoods and vulnerability, WASH, and social behaviour change.
Doyita has a strong interest in mixed methods research, particularly in designing robust research frameworks, methodologies, and instruments. She is keen on exploring innovative approaches to data collection and analysis. Her experience includes working with large datasets in multi-stakeholder platforms, allowing her to derive meaningful insights that inform policy and program development.
Doyita holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Department of International Relations at Jadavpur University and a Master's in Public Policy from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru. She is deeply passionate about understanding how policies for natural resource management evolve, with a particular focus on the factors that drive decision-making, the outcomes that warrant attention, and the practices and behaviours that need to change. Engaging with diverse participants and groups to contextualize these insights is central to her work, and her focus aligns closely with the problem-identification and agenda-setting phases of policymaking. Doyita is committed to bridging research and impactful policy action.
