R. Vinaygam (“Vinay”) is an experienced MEL professional providing technical and strategic leadership for Athena’s monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) work. With nearly eight years of experience in the development sector, he brings expertise in social research, impact evaluation, project management, and the oversight of large-scale studies.
Vinay has designed and contributed to more than 20 research and evaluation studies focused on a range of development themes, including reproductive health, education, livelihoods, child rights, and nutrition. He specializes in quantitative research, designing and implementing quasi-experimental studies, needs assessments, mixed-methods, and sampling methods.
Before joining Athena, Vinay served as an Engagement Manager with Sattva Consulting's Impact Measurement Advisory team. He has also worked for organizations such as 3ie, the Population Council, Development Solutions, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, CIFF, ILO, Washington University, GFEMS, NORAD, British International Investment, and Central Square Foundation.
Vinay holds a Master's degree in development with a specialization in public policy from Azim Premji University.
