Ramkrishna's interests include WASH and public health. With a background in civil engineering, Ramakrishna's career began with CDD Society, designing decentralized wastewater treatment plants. Later, he worked on projects addressing issues related to effective fecal sludge management. Following this, he was associated with BORDA, supporting the development of city sanitation plans for 31 municipalities in Bangladesh. He holds a postgraduate degree from UNESCO-IHE, Netherlands in water management and governance, and completed his thesis on water governance in small towns at the rural-urban intersection in Uganda.
